Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Counsellors
All Relationship Matters is a boutique counselling, psychotherapy and psychological service. We provide a range of services including marriage counselling, couples counselling, individual counselling, relationship counselling, family counselling, mental health counselling, and small group counselling. You will find we are highly qualified in the latest evidence-based practice in psychology, neuroscience and counselling. But we are not nerdy…we are down to earth, approachable, and compassionate. When you call, you will speak directly with one of us.
Every psychologist, psychotherapist and counsellor on our team is naturally kind, warm, caring and empathic with a keen intuitive understanding of people and of the complexities of life. And we actually love our work! We love seeing clients, listening to their issues and collaboratively working towards solutions! We believe close relationships buffers stress, calm our nervous system and increases our level of happiness. Hence, we have intentionally kept our team small to foster meaningful relationships, form close bonds, and encourage growth in each other, both professionally and personally. By the way, many of our clients are surprised at how we are the same person in or out of the counselling room when they bump into us somewhere in Melbourne.
And this next point is the serious bit. It sets us apart from many other psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors, who may be trained to provide therapy but without having ever personally experienced it themselves. In our view, it is vital to seek out a psychologist or counsellor who has experienced their own psychotherapy or counselling. Therapists are humans too, and as such, we have our own ‘blind’ spots and stuck points in our lives. Not exploring those issues prevents a helping professional from being able to effectively serve clients. Put another way, we would not see a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor who had not had their own personal therapy, and in our opinion, neither should you. We know that to remain proficient, effective, authentic, congruent counsellors and psychologists, we must put our best selves forward by facing our own interpersonal challenges through individual counselling. We also believe that it’s important for any Psychologist or Counsellor to understand what it is like to be on the client side of the therapeutic relationship. It can feel very vulnerable and very scary to share deeply personal stuff. You can be rest assured we ‘get’ how you as a client would feel!
Sometimes, when help is most needed, people have encountered negative experiences with psychologists or counsellors. This is unfortunate and unnecessary. It could be an ill match between psychologist/counsellor and client, or it could be that the psychologists/counsellors could only provide help to the limits of their own experience, qualifications, and training. At All Relationship Matters we have worked with many people in this situation, and we have been able to offer them the help they really needed. We are very pleased to say that our successful outcome ratio rate is high, and our retention rate for clients equally so. Please refer to our testimonial page to read feedback from our clients.

For us, this is our life’s work. We are career therapists who work with dedication, commitment and love. We love helping our clients feel better and live more of life! Another thing that makes us unusual is that we are prepared to say that we do what we do out of love. It’s not a word you hear a Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Psychologist say often. So, yes our practice is based on psychology and sophisticated models of neuroscience but the medium of our practice is love. Yes love. Call us on 0400 999 918 or send us an email. We would like to help you.
